Christopher Gould Obituary

Christopher James Gould. Dedicated family man, fervent sports fan, devout Christian, Chris Gould was called home by his Heavenly Father on April 8, 2015 at the young age of 34 years.

He was born October 16, 1980. Graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1999 and Youngstown State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Then he stepped up to the biggest responsibility of his life when he married Kelli Nicole (Barker) Gould on November 16, 2012, making a home for them in Vienna, Ohio while working diligently at RTI Metals melt shop in Niles.

Early on, he and his brother Anthony cultivated a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit that would shape his character and drive various pursuits - from his proficiency in precious metals and gems, to his fascination with historic coins, World War II firearms and artifacts.

Whatever interested him soon became a fiery passion. Whether it was quarterbacking the Niles McKinley Red Dragons, which helped cultivate a supreme devotion to our National Champions, The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Chris truly bled Scarlett and Gray. Occasionally, exhorting the defeat of his father-in-law's cherished Yankees at the hands of Chris' hometown Indians, to transforming a diamond acquired in his youth into a beloved keepsake for his wife, to mark the birth of their daughter. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Niles.

That was Chris. Fierce yet gentle. Urgent yet patient. Earnest yet wry. An inspiration.

He leaves his loving wife, his precious daughter, Teagan Lynlee Gould, his devoted parents James A. and Deborah L. (Moran) Gould of Niles as well as his loyal brother Anthony J. Gould of Niles and his Best Man, lifelong friend, and brother-of-choice, Michael Billock of Austintown. He is survived by his in-laws Fawnda (Bailey) and Ronald Barker of Niles, brother-in-law Kyle M. Barker and nephew, Preston Barker; grandmothers Carmella (Lucarelli) Gould and Margie (Moran) Moy both of Warren. Chris also leaves cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will carry his memory forever.

Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, James D. Gould, Forest L. Moran and Calvin Moy.

Calling hours will be Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles. A Byzantine Wake Service will take place at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, Ohio 44515.
