NILES - Doris Louise Bollinger, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning June 13, 2018 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home.
She was born in Fairchance, Pennsylvania on November 14, 1929 the daughter of John and Anne Workman.
Doris was a member of the Niles First United Methodist Church and was the former church historian. She enjoyed playing bingo, computer games, coloring and following her family and friends on Facebook. She also enjoyed the friendships she made at the Central Park Apartments in Niles. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Doris is survived by a son, Edward L. (Suzan) Bollinger Jr. of Mineral Ridge; daughter, Cheryl Bollinger of Niles; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Edward Workman of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Bollinger Sr. whom she married on March 25, 1955 and who died on January 13, 2004; son, William "Woody" Bollinger; grandson, Daniel Edward Bollinger; infant sister, Almina Workman and three brothers, Albert, Earl, James Workman. The Funeral will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 at noon at the Niles First United Methodist Church where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paula Marbury will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
