NILES - Elnora G. "Ellie" Guth, 86, passed away peacefully at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Community Skilled Nursing Home, Warren.
Ellie was born in Diana, West Virginia on April 10, 1930 the daughter of Arthur and Olive (McCourt) Evans and came to the Niles area many years ago.
Ellie retired as a clerk for the Niles City School System where she was employed for 18 years. Previously the worked at the A and P Grocery Store and was a homemaker, A member of Saint Stephen Church, she enjoyed camping and fishing. A active member of the Niles Catholic Womens Club she also enjoyed reading, cooking, quilting and crocheting.
Ellie is survived by a daughter, Deborah E. (David) Montgomery and two grandsons Tyler and Evan Montgomery all of Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Guth whom she married January 9, 1960 and who died on Dece,ber 18, 1997; three sisters Lila Grimes, Pearl Grimes, Infant Susan Evans; three brothers Hartzell "Skip" Evans, James Evans and an infant.
Calling Hours will be Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where the St. Stephen Bereavement Ministry will have a 5:30 p.m. prayer service. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church with the Rev. Richard Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
