NILES - Frank V. Strama, 80, passed away at 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday November 17, 2015 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.
He was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on October 19, 1935 the son of Frank L. and Catherine (Shinsky) Strama.
He honorably served in the United States Army and was a member of St. Stephen Church and the Western Reserve Fish and Game Club. He retired on March 1, 1996 after working 30 years as a tow motor operator at General Motors Lordstown. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV riding and spending time with family and friends at his hunting camp in Smethport, Pennsylvania. Most of all he cherished his grandkids and loved watching their sports and school activities.
Frank is survived by a daughter, Antoinette "Toni" (John) Guy of Liberty Township; son, Frank J. (Julie) Strama of Vienna; five grandchildren, Rachel and Jamie Guy, Emily, Frank R. "Butchie" and Katie Margaret Strama; two sisters, Patricia (Ronald) Jones of New Jersey, Mary (Raymond) Leydig of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Richard (Christine) Strama of Pennsylvania, John (Elena) Strama of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret S. (Scarpitti) Strama whom he married on November 18, 1961 and who passed away on January 4, 2007 and two sisters, Antennette Strama and Catherine Hoffer.
Calling hours will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
