LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - Howard Joseph Pullin Jr. passed away suddenly the evening of Tuesday September 13, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center at the age of 86 to be with our Lord.
He was born in Confluence, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1930 the son of Howard and Alverta (Mimna) Pullin Sr.
He was a graduate of Confluence High School and moved to Ohio at the age of 17. He worked at U.S. Steel McDonald Works in the mid 1960's and was a carpenter. Howard was the owner and contractor of Pullin Construction where he built and remodeled commercial and residential properties for over thirty years. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church and enjoyed traveling during his retirement and playing cards with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of over 65 years Wanda Jeanne (McCormick) Pullin whom he married on April 30, 1951; five children, Denise Cohol of Liberty Township, Diane Pullin of Jacksonville, Florida, Lorane Lynn of Ravenna, Chip (Kim) Pullin of Liberty Township, Deva Pullin of Melbourne, Florida; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Alexander of Accident, Maryland, Clara Bennett of Cumberland, Maryland and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth Pullin, Blaine Pullin and a sister, Edna Mae Golding.
Calling hours will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles. The funeral will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fred Golding will officiate. Burial will be in Girard City Cemetery.
