NILES - Joan Elizabeth Paulik, 79, died at 1:25 pm on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at the O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center following an extended illness.
She was born in Warren on April 11, 1935 the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Filip) Mrofchak and live her entire life in this community. A 1953 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, she worked as an assembler at Packard Electric in Warren for several years.
She was a member of St. Stephen Church and TOPS. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and enjoyed listening to the Delilah Show on the radio.
Joan is survived by a son, John Joseph Paulik with whom she made her home; daughter, Karen (Bill) Peyatt of Niles; three grandchildren, David Paulik, Stacie Paulik, Bobby (Heather) Peyatt all of Niles; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Jaclyn; four brothers, Bill M. (Judy) Mrofchak of Vienna, Steve Mrofchak of Warren, John (Marlene) Mrofchak of Warren, Paul (Audrey) Mrofchak of Girard.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth John Paulik who died on April 5, 1984; sister, Mary Byle and a brother Joseph.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Service of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 18, 2014 at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
