Josephine Minerd Obituary
NILES - Josephine Frances Minerd, 91, passed away on Friday morning September 11, 2015 at her home.
She was born in Niles, Ohio on February 14, 1924 the daughter of Phillip and Margaret (Jacola) Malvasi and lived in Niles her entire life.
A 1941 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, she was employed by Packard Electric and The Living Room Restaurant until her retirement. Josephine was an active member of St. Stephen Church and the Niles Catholic Womens Club. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Her granddaughters were the light of her life.
Josephine is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (David) Kirchner of Palm Bay, Florida, Margaret (Michael) Orslene of Powell, Ohio; four granddaughters, Stephanie (Michael) Regan, Andrea (Dan) Rogers, Natalie Orslene, Gabrielle Orslene; great granddaughter, Giulianna Rogers; sister, Connie Allard of Warren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Roy Edward Minerd whom she married on October 23, 1948 and who passed away on November 27, 2001; two sisters, Ann Paolucci, Rose M. Malvasi and two brothers, Joseph Malvasi and Michael Malvasi; brother in law, Harold "Bud" Allard.
Calling Hours will be Monday, September 14, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Holeton - Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church. Rev. James Korda will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
