June Cavanaugh Obituary
NILES - June Cavanaugh, 89, died at 12:15 p.m. on Monday October 17, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center following a short illness.
She was born in Youngstown on September 19, 1927 the daughter of Patrick F. and Marie (Cavanaugh) Cavanaugh.
She was a 1945 graduate of Youngstown Wilson High School and a member of St. Stephen Church and the Model Mothers of Warren. She was a bookkeeper at the American Cancer Society, Gene's Jewelery in Warren and retired from Dr. Melvin Belli's Orthodontist office in Warren. She enjoyed flower gardening, yardwork, reading and traveling to visit family in Florida. She was extremely proud of her Irish Heritage and was an avid Notre Dame Fan, "Go Irish!"
June is survived by three children, Patricia (Kenneth) Ursic of Orlando, Florida, Ted (Diane) Cavanaugh of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, Kevin Cavanaugh of Orlando, Florida; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a sister, Eileen Cavanaugh of North Lima.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Michael Cavanaugh whom she married on January 8, 1947 and who died on September 9, 2002 and two brothers, Francis and Donald Cavanaugh.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 21, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where the St. Stephen Bereavement Ministry will have a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church. Rev. James Korda will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
