Merle Campbell Obituary

WARREN - Merle B. Campbell Sr., 70, passed away at 3:56 a.m. on Saturday May 23, 2015 at the St. Joseph Health Center following a sudden illness.

He was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on August 31, 1944 the son of Delmar W. and Grace M. (Sparks) Campbell.

Merle retired in 1995 after working 30 years at General Motors and also retired as the co-manager of the Westwood Lake Park. He was of the Pentecostal Faith, honorably served in the Army National Guard of Ohio and was a member of the Niles McKinley Masonic Lodge 794. He was a movie buff and enjoyed all types of music. Most of all, he loved his family and also cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Merle is survived by his wife Dianne L. (White) Campbell whom he married on November 4, 1967; two sons, Merle B. (Rebecca) Campbell Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, William D. Campbell of Braceville Township; daughter, Amy (Jim) Kagarise of Youngstown; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Cora, Chloe, Andrew, Madalyn, Jamie, Jimmy Jr.; sister, Joyce Ann Campbell of Warren; brother, John (Peggy) Campbell of Warren; brother in law, George Miller of Warren; sister in law, Patricia Campbell of Florida.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora L. Miller, Violet Campbell; four brothers, Charles, Everett, Sherman, Dennis Campbell.

Calling Hours will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Masonic service will be at 7:45 p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Rev. George Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
