Troy Cross Obituary

McDONALD - Troy William Cross, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening July 6, 2014 at his residence with his family at his side.

He was born in Lawton, Kentucky on November 24, 1932 the son of Joseph Henry and Edna Bertha (May) Cross and moved to this area in the 1960's.

He was an operating engineer for Morain Coating and Construction of Mineral Ridge and a member of Operating Engineers Local 66. He was an active member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, remodeling and being the family's handyman.

Troy is survived by his wife, Rhoda Ann (Johnson) Cross whom he married on March 28, 1953; two daughters, Brenda Kaye (Leonard) Ritz of Canfield, Tammie Lynn (Jim) McCale of McDonald; son, Troy Allen (Janice) Cross of Mineral Ridge; six grandchildren, James Cayten, Jonathan Cayten, Jammie Thiemar, James McCale Jr., Erica Cross, Troy Justin Cross; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Fred (Dorothy) Cross of Mineral Ridge, Tom (Kitty) Cross of Mineral Ridge, Jackson Dwayne (Sally) Cross of Seadrift, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Richard Lee Cayten.

Calling Hours will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm and Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 10 to 11 am at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Doug Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
