AUSTINTOWN - Cledith R. Nickell, 79, of 1781 Lancaster Drive went to be with his Lord at 4:23pm, Monday, February 01, 2010 at the Forum Health-Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Haldeman, Kentucky on March 26, 1930 to Frank L. and Maudie (Jennings) Nickels and came to Trumbull County as a young adult. Cledith retired in 1990 with 40 years of service in the maintenance welding department at RMI Company Niles plant.
Following his retirement, he enjoyed camping, working on old cars and working in his yard both here and his time spent in Florida. He was an active church member of the Evening Light Apostolic Church, and especially enjoyed the family activities with his children and his loving grandchildren.
He was devoted to his wife the former Juanita R. Holbrook whom he married December 3, 1948 and his two daughters Debbie (James) "Bo" Berry Sr. of Lake Milton, Carla (Robert) Monoski Jr, of Canfield, and son, Ronald (Linda) Nickell Sr. of Berlin Center, nine grandchildren Angel Wilson, Cristal Antal, Tisa Hamner, James Berry Jr., Heather Monoski, Robert Monoski III, Ronald Nickell Jr., Joseph Nickell and Laura Lee Marshall, ten great-grandchildren. One brother, Clarence "Booney" Nickels of Niles.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Larry Lee Nickell who died February 28, 1979, three brothers, Delmar, John, and Guy Nickels and three sisters, Loretta "Dollie" Cline, Shelvie Plyler and Marge Palmer.
Family and friends may call at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles, Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Evening Light Apostolic Church from 10:00am to the 11:00am service at the church with Brother Darrell Cline officiating. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
