NILES - Jeanne D. Littleton, 75, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday evening December 29, 2009 at the St. Joseph Health Center with her family at her side.
She was born in Niles, Ohio on June 1, 1934 to Carl B. and Myrtle Dale (Ray) Porter and was a lifelong resident of Niles. A 1952 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, she served as class president and was involved in many clubs in school.
Jeanne had a strong will and through all her many illnesses her strength and faith stayed strong even until the end of her life. She was of the Nazarene Faith.
Jeanne worked for Trumbull Metropolitan Housing for 30 years until she retired in 2002. Jeanne enjoyed helping so many people while she worked there and was sad when she had to retire as she missed all the contact she would be having with the people whom she could help.
She is survived by a son, Douglas Littleton of Austintown; two daughters, Debbie Lewis of Niles, Rhonda (Nick) Vitullo of Niles; four grandchildren, Douglas P. (Michelle) Littleton Jr. of Columbus, Courtney Littleton of Warren, Lauren Littleton of Warren, McKenzie Diehl of Niles who dotted on her grandmother and assisted in her care and a great grandson Nicholas Booth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Matthew Bowser; three sisters, Elaine Fowler, Garnet Anderson, Francis Wilson; two brothers Carl Porter and Robert Porter.
Calling Hours will be Friday, January 1, 2010 from 3 to 5 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Rev. John Mizgerd will officiate. Burial will be at Niles City Cemetery.
