Christopher Ziegler Obituary
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Christopher Ziegler, 59, formerly of Mecca, Ohio passed away at 6:37 am on Thursday April 23, 2015 at the Grand Stand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
He was born in Warren, Ohio on December 25, 1955 the son of George W. and Margaret T. (Kearney) Ziegler and was a graduate of Maplewood High School.
Chris worked as an appraiser for Cortland Bank while he resided in Mecca, he also operated a mini golf course that he built at his home in Mecca. He moved to Myrtle Beach 20 years ago and was employed at the Fireworks store for 10 years. He enjoyed working on crafts, going to flea markets and fairs and playing his guitar and giving guitar lessons at his music stores in Cortland and Newton Falls. He was an avid Notre Dame, Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fan.
Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Yvonne Omerzo of Cortland; brother, Father Thomas Ziegler of Canfield; his long time companion Sylvia Mattos of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister in law, Corlene Ziegler of Florida; nephews, Scott Omerzo of Mecca, Greg (Tracy) Omerzo of Mecca; three nieces, Heather Campbell of Mecca, Lori Ziegler, Michelle Ziegler both of Florida; eight great nieces and nephews, Josie, Hunter, Emma, Wyatt, Jimmy, Justin, Sierra, Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Ziegler; brother-in-law, Jim Omerzo.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Church 4659 Ohio 46, Cortland, Ohio 44410. Father Thomas G. Ziegler will be the celebrant. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
