NILES - Dewey Lee Bowman, 97, died at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Niles on July 30, 1917 the son of Carl and Ida (Crum) Bowman. He retired in 1980 after working many years as a fork lift operator at Jones and Laughlin Steel and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Dewey is survived by two daughters, Barbara Williams, Doris (Rex) Ford of Vienna; four granddaughters, Linda Bass, Martha McQuilken, Sherri Williams, Michele Brown; two great granddaughters, Crystal and Melissa Bass; five great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl M. (Sheldon) Bowman whom he married on January 30, 1937 and who died on September 22, 2000; a sister; five brothers and a great grandson, Daniel Bass.
The funeral will be Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Senior Pastor Joel Dickson of the Fowler Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Vienna Township Cemetery.
