Faye Flannery Obituary
NILES - Faye F. Flannery, 82, peacefully went home to be with the Lord at 6:36 a.m. on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on January 20, 1933 the last remaining sibling of her family and the youngest daughter of Jack and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Blankenship) Fisher and moved to the Niles area in 1949.
She retired in the early 1990's after working 34 years at Packard Electric and continued as a member of the Packard Retirees. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Niles. She studied the Bible and memorized many scripture passages which gave her comfort during her illness. Faye enjoyed traveling, quilting, caring for humming birds and flower gardening. She transformed her backyard into a beautiful garden paradise for everyone to enjoy. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Faye is survived by three daughters, Debbie King of Niles, Sandi (Joe) Westall of Red Springs, North Carolina, Myra (Michael) Giangardella of Howland; two sons, David (Mindy) Flannery of Savannah, Georgia, Steve Flannery (Jason Orlando) of Lakewood; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene M. Flannery whom she married on December 24, 1949 and who died on February 13, 1981; son, Michael Eugene Flannery who died on July 5, 1988; five sisters and six brothers.
The funeral will be Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dave Burman will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Ohio Adoption Service (NOAS) 5000 E. Market Street #26, Warren, Ohio 44484.
