WARREN - Ira Clair Strohmeyer Jr., 66, died at 8:35 p.m. on Friday November 10, 2017 at the St. Joseph Health Center following complications of pneumonia.
He was born in Warren on January 17, 1951 the son of Ira Clair and Hilda N. (Thornburgh) Strohmeyer Sr. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Stephen Church and the American Pool Association. For 10 years he was the Circulation Delivery Route Manager for the Warren Tribune Chronicle Newspaper. He previously lived in Niles and Newton Falls.
Ira is survived by a daughter in Germany; nephew, Jerimiah (Lisa) Strohmeyer with whom he lived for the past years; eight siblings, Joanne (David) Vickers of Berlin Center, Gertrude (Henry) Thompson of Sacramento, California, Janet Strohmeyer of Niles, Edward Joseph Strohmeyer of Niles, William (Sherry) Strohmeyer of Niles, Annette (Hassan) Fawaz of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dorothy Strohmeyer of Niles, Roberta Strohmeyer of Niles and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Loretta Ellis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Church. Rev. James Korda will be the celebrant.
