Jewel Holbrook Obituary
NILES - Jewel Holbrook, 95, passed away at 4:55 pm on Thursday May 8, 2014 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home.
She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on December 26, 1918 the daughter of Luther and Elizabeth (France) Garvin. She retired in 1981 after working 30 years as a press operator at American Flange. She was a member of the Evening Light Apostolic Church and enjoyed traveling.
Jewel is survived by two daughters, Diane (Ralph) Cevetto of Niles, Gayle Savin of Springboro; son, Madison "Rusty" Holbrook Jr. of Niles; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Madison R. "Matt" Holbrook Sr.; son, Robert G. Holbrook on November 5, 1999; three daughters, Alta Callihan on August 30, 2012, Libby Mordent on April 12, 2013, Linda Ragozzine on May 5, 2014; grandson, Robert Mitchell Savin on September 15, 2007; great grandson, Robert Edward Lee III on May 23, 2008; great granddaughter, Brynn Nicole Cevetto on March 23, 2011; brother, Merle Garvin; four sisters, Pearl Foster, Norma Stone, Thelma Kagley, Maude Porter.
Calling hours will be Monday, May 12, 2014 from 3 to 5 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Darrell Cline will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
