Joretta Pirigyi Obituary
NILES - Joretta C. Pirigyi, 82, passed away peacefully at 11:38 pm, Monday June 2, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. Joretta was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on December 16, 1931, the daughter of Harry and Ellen Marie (Icenhour) Tanthorey Sr. and lived in the Niles area most of her life.
Joretta was the co-owner and secretary, with her husband William, of the family owned business Niles RFG and HTG. She enjoyed traveling, visiting the casinos and roller skating, and the many family activities.
Joretta is survived by her husband William Robert Pirigyi Sr. whom she married 65 years ago on June 18; two sons Harry "Mickey" (Linda) Pirigyi of Boardman, William R. Pirigyi Jr. of Niles; two daughters Cynthia (Terry) Seginak of Howland, Valerie (Bill) Rufener of Suffield; eight grandchildren Michelle (Troy) Atkins, Melissa Kiss, Brad Pirigyi, Jarad Pirigyi, Andrew Pirigyi, Ethan Pirigyi, Nicholas Seginak, Tiffany (Michael) Asent; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, a sister Juanita (Anthony) Chesney of Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Beverly "Bobbi" Lywiski, two brothers Harry Tanthorey Jr. and Marion Tanthorey.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 6, 2014 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, at Saint James Church with the Rev.James Walker officiating, preceded by a 9:30am prayer service at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles. Friends may call at the Holeton-Yuhasz funeral home on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday from 9:00am to 9:30am. Burial will be in Saint Stephen Cemetery.
