GUYTON, GEORGIA - Joseph Richard Secich, 89, formerly of Niles passed away on Thursday January 9, 2014 at Effingham County Hospital in Springfield. He was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1924 the son of Stephen and Mildred (Roc) Secich.
He served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Booth. He retired from LTV Steel in 1989 after working in both Niles and Cleveland. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time with family.
Joseph is survived by his two children, Joseph M. (Roberta) Secich of Guyton, Georgia, Catherine Ann (Larry) Garlock of Swansboro, North Carolina; step-daughter, Janet Kandrac of Niles; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Michael Krcelic; his wife, Agnes (Cadonic) Secich; his second wife, Anna (Kandrac) Secich; five brothers, Michael, Frank, John, Stephen and Ferdinand Secich; step-daughter, Monica Kandrac.
A private graveside service will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1:30pm at St. Stephen Cemetery in Niles, Ohio. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski of St. Stephen Church will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
