Lisa Paugh Obituary

WARREN - Lisa Christine Paugh, 42, passed away peacefully at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday January 14, 2021 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center following complications of a fall days earlier.
Lisa was born in Warren, Ohio on February 22, 1978 along with her twin sister Katherine (Katie), the daughter of Craig and Ruth (Marshman) Paugh, Lisa was a 1996 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She graduated from YSU magna cum laude with a BA in Art History, a subject she truly loved.
For over 17 years, Lisa was a substitute school teacher for Warren City Schools. The latter years, she was a permanent building sub at Jefferson PK-8. In addition, Lisa was a sales associate for LeRoy's Jewelry store at the Eastwood Mall. Lisa's desire was to help children achieve and adults to find satisfaction in their choices. Her abilities, personality, and disposition added to necessary knowledge, allowed Lisa to be successful in both positions. Since childhood, Lisa has had a relationship with God, but she really found her niche in God's Garden Ministry, originally at Tod Avenue UMC and then at Warren First UMC. Lisa's talents enabled her to work in all aspects of the Ministry. She was a Worship Leader, Children's Choir Director, a teacher and coordinator for music and art. She was involved in Vacation Bible School as well as all the programs and projects God's Garden chose to incorporate or present. While she worked well with all ages, she taught the youth class. The kids couldn't wait to turn 12. Her lessons were interesting and applicable. Lisa, not only taught Sunday School lessons, she taught life lessons. Her students knew she was always available to discuss their questions and concerns. Lisa always responded from her heart, based on knowledge and experience. She was one of those few people who are able to naturally express themselves with words. Lisa knew what to say and how to say it. Lisa brought her energy, warmth and talents to everything she did. She loved those in God's Garden, as she did others, with a nonjudgmental love and they loved her.
Lisa enjoyed traveling, camping, painting, cooking and grilling. She cherished spending time around her bonfires at home and swinging on her sky chairs with family and friends. She also loved tending to the landscape and flowers around her home.
Lisa's presence lit up a room and brought joy to all of those around her. Lisa's bubbly personality, positive attitude, and sense of FUN drew people to her. Her ability to truly listen to others, actually care about them, and share their concerns made her a great confidante, companion and friend. Her good sense in giving advice and encouragement have created many bonds of trust and friendship. Lisa will always be remembered for her laugh, her smile, and her hugs. She will be genuinely missed by all who knew her.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Ruth Paugh of Warren; twin sister, Katherine (Katie) Paugh of Warren; sister, Gretta (Chris) Long of Jacksonville, North Carolina; her pet dog Ozzy and pet cats Apollo and Mimosa.
She was preceded in death by her father Craig who passed away on January 12, 2016.
Due to COVID-19 Virus, a private funeral was held at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles. Burial was at Crown Hill Cemetery, Vienna.
