Louis Febinger Obituary
NILES - Louis D. "Punchy" Febinger Sr., 87, passed away on Sunday morning January 28, 2018 at his residence. He was loving cared for by his wife, Vi, daughter, Arlene Fyock and grandchildren, Mathew and Brandon Fyock and Margie Styers all of Niles.
He was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania on April 20, 1930 the son of William and Wilda Pearl (Young) Febinger Sr. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the Sprinkler Fitters UA Local Union 669 for 65 years. Punchy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping. Following retirement he and his wife traveled and visited all fifty states.
Punchy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Edith "Vi" (Hawk) Febinger whom he married on May 14, 1955; two daughters, Arlene Fyock of Niles, Debbie (Jeff) James of West Farmington; son, Louis D. (Dee) Febinger Jr. of Clayton, Delaware; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brother, William Febinger II of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Bea (Jim) Smith of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, JoAnne Walrath of Hadley, Massachusetts; sister in law, Lois Febinger of Kittanning, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Thomas Febinger.
Calling Hours will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Chaplain Rebecca Hudak of Hospice of the Valley will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
