WEST FARMINGTON - Loyd D. Tenney, 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Heather Hills Nursing Home, Chardon following complications of pneumonia. Loyd was born in Helvetia, West Virginia on March 12, 1949 the son of Floyd D. and Audra (Scott) Tenney.
Loyd was a high school graduate, served in the Army Infantry during the Vietnam War from June 10, 1968 and was honorably discharged on June 1, 1974. He was employed for over 15 years as a boiler operator and maintenance supervisor for the Hawken Private Schools, Gates Mills, Ohio. He held a certified licensed boiler operators certificate since September 17 1984. Loyd was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by three daughters and a son, Audra (Terry) Marcum, Wade Tenney both of Niles, Melinda Marsa of Galloway, New Jersey, Shauna (James) Cleveland of Warren; two grandsons, Christopher and Brandon Marcum both of Niles; five brothers and three sisters, Floyd (Sonny) Tenney of Resacal, Georgia, Forest (Duck) Tenney of Mineral Ridge, Champ Tenney of Chugiak, Alaska, Roger Tenney of Dalton, Texas, Jerry Tenney of Burton, Wilda Demoss of Middlefield, Cora (Jeanie) Balog of Orwell, and Nancy VanWormer of Findley, Ohio.
Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Susan Koon Tenney whom he married June 16, 1978 and she passed away on August 14, 1991, and a sister Wilma Shipman.
Friends may call at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow.
