NILES - Norwood Lester "Butch" McNamara Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning August 9, 2014 at his residence after a two month illness.
He was born in Warren on January 29, 1948 the son of Norwood Lester and Margaret (Rich) McNamara Sr.
A 1966 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, he honorably served in the Untied States Army in the Vietnam War. He recently retired as a groundsman in the Electrical Department for the City of Niles where he also worked in many of the other departments. For many years he worked at Packard Electric and was a self-employed landscaper. He was a member of St. Stephen Church, Niles VFW and Niles Amvets. Butch was a fan of all Ohio sports teams, including The Ohio State Buckeyes, Browns, Indians and Cavs. He enjoyed golfing, a good cigar and his award winning classic Corvette.
Butch is survived by his wife Deborah (Walsh) McNamara whom he married on March 16, 2009; two daughters, Traci and Megan; sister, Linda (Robert) Frisen of Cape Coral, Florida; aunt, Dorothy Lawlor of Niles and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling Hours will be Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at noon at St. Stephen Church. Military honors will be provided by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
