YOUNGSTOWN - Robert James "Bob" Gromley, 70, passed away at 3:43 p.m. on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at his home from lung cancer.
He was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on December 14, 1945 the son of Arthur J. and Mary (Fleeger) Gromley. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and for 17 years he worked at General Motors in Lordstown. He was a member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ and enjoyed visiting with his nieces and nephews. Most of all he loved babysitting and spending time with his grandkids.
Bob is survived by his longtime companion of 31 years, Debbie Leyman of Youngstown; children, Tricia (Michael) Hoskin of Brookfield, Mike Leyman of Youngstown; eight grandchildren, Haley, Riley, Hayden, Hunter, Cooper, Peyton, Harper, Remi Hoskin and a sister, Edna Marlene "Sis" Lipscomb of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers, Vincent, Arthur, Ronald, Barry, Edwin, Joseph Gromley, Arla King and a sister, Althea Joyce Gromley.
Calling Hours will be Monday, August 15, 2016 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
