Steve Ruman Obituary
Liberty Township - Steve T. Ruman, 80, passed away at 5:00 am on Saturday September 28, 2013 at his residence following a two year battle with cancer.
He was born in Niles on February 7, 1933 the son of Steve and Anna (Palko) Ruman.
He was a graduate of St. Stephen School and Niles McKinley High School, Class of 1951. He honorably served in the United States Navy Reserves from 1952-1954 and was a member of St. Stephen Church. He retired in 1993 after working 35 years as a laborer at Packard Electric Company. Family was first in Steve's life, he and his family shared many happy times at their cabin in Cook's Forest, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed visiting wineries, working crossword puzzles and his German Shepherd, Prince.
Steve is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Palko) Ruman whom he married on September 6, 1958; two daughters, Rochelle (Wayne) Ensor of McDonald, Lisa Marie Ruman of Westlake; sister, Mary Ann (James) Casey of Niles; brother, Pete Ruman of Niles
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Frank, William and Walter Ruman.
Calling hours will be Monday, September 30, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen Church. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
