HOWLAND - Wayne Hanshaw Sr., 76, went home to be with his Lord at 4:04 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
He was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on June 9, 1939 the son of Arthur and Helen (Johnson) Hanshaw.
Wayne was an over the road professional truck driver for USF Holland and retired in 2002. He was a member of the Apostolic Bible Church and the Local Teamsters.
He enjoyed all church activities, playing Chess and activities with his family and children. He was a Cleveland Browns fan and the backyard cornhole champion.
Wayne is survived by his wife Jannie (Clay) Hanshaw whom he married on September 21, 1994; seven children, Dwayne Hanshaw of Niles, David (Lani) Hanshaw of Raleigh, North Carolina, Steven (Ali) Hanshaw of Warren, Gwendolyn Hanshaw of Newton Falls, Cheryl Hanshaw of Leavittsburg, Abbigayle Hanshaw of Howland, Karlea Hanshaw of Howland; seven grandchildren; brother, Pete (Lynn) Hanshaw of St. Petersburg, Florida; sister, Phyllis (Phil) Prezioso of Howland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Wayne Hanshaw Jr.
The Funeral will be Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Bible Church where family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Pastor David Murphy will officiate.
