Barbara F. Doughty

NILES - Barbara F. Doughty 85, passed away at 11:53 a.m. on Saturday May 18, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 17, 1934 the daughter of William and Margaret (Rosenberg) Vaupel. She was raised in Girard and moved to Niles in 1960. Barbara enjoyed antiquing, crocheting, and tending to her rose bushes. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and all their activities. Barbara is survived by three children, Sandra Doughty, Dorothy (Robert) Allen, Andrew Doughty all of Niles; nine grandchildren, Megan Allen, Christina Doughty, Robert Allen, DJ Doughty, Greg Colvin, Patrick Doughty, Cody Doughty, Kelly Doughty Groves, Brian Doughty; eight great grandchildren; and sister, Carol Schimpf of Girard. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Francis Doughty whom she married on August 14, 1954 and who died on September 1, 2011; two sons, Christopher Doughty who died on July 1, 2009, Donald R. Doughty who died on July 4, 1993; two grandchildren, Michael Doughty, Kaitlyn Marie Doughty and a sister Wilma Martin. A Celebration of her Life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday May 24, 2019 at the New Hope United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 21 Fairview Avenue, Niles, Ohio 44446. Burial will be in Girard City Cemetery. Arrangements by Holeton - Yuhasz Funeral Home, 126 West Park Avenue, Niles, Ohio 44446.
