Bertha Eloise (Crank) Carpenter , 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 4:43 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Warren Nursing and Rehab following an extended illness.
Bertha was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on October 29, 1924 the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Bocook) Richards. Bertha was an active and faithful member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, reading, especially her Bible, and was a wonderful homemaker for her family.
Bertha is survived by her two daughters: Kathy (Donald) Gadd Sr. with whom she lived, Linda Wilkes of Howland, step-daughter Donna Jean (Don) Mayer of Cortland, sister Betty Bailey of Hitchins, Kentucky: 11 grandchildren, Donald Gadd Jr., Tammy Gadd, Jimmy Pappada, Amber Thompson, Charles Crank Jr., Hazie Crank, Angel Crank, Dustin Crank, Michelle Crank, Chris Smith, Bernie Smith, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husbands Herbert Crank Sr., Leroy Carpenter, three sons, Donald Ray Crank, Charles Edward Crank, Herbert Crank Jr., two step sons: Bobby Carpenter, Jackie Carpenter, and three grandchildren: Brian, Brad and Curtis Crank and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, DeForest Road on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Douglas Brown officiating. Calling hours will be at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at the Niles City Cemetery.
The family extends a "Thank You" to the nursing home staff and the caregivers from Buckeye Hospice.
Funeral arrangements are by the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles.
