Bessie A. Givens

NILES - Bessie A. Givens, 93, of 1500 McKinley Avenue, Apartment 320 died at 6:00 pm on Sunday February 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Niles on June 17, 1919 the daughter of Thomas and Susan Jane (Richards) Ainsworth and lived in this community all of her life. She retired in 1981 after working 20 years as a line inspector at Packard Electric Company.  A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, flower gardening and family activities.  She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Bessie is survived by her children, Donna Streb of McDonald, Larry Hillier of Niles, Barbara (Charles) McKinney of Niles, Nancy (Stan) Carr of Ravenna; step-children, Jack Givens of Andover, Karen (John) Crain of Kinsman, Sheryl (Tom) Hunn of Cortland, Gary (Carol) Givens of Valparaiso, Florida; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Lloyd (Madeline) Rupp of Canfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Givens who she married on November 17, 1959 and who died on June 5, 2006; son, Albert Edward Hillier; grandson; four brothers and a sister. Calling Hours will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.  The Funeral will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11 am at the funeral home where family and friends may also call a half hour prior to the service.  Rev. David Conrad will officiate.  Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
