Betty Jane Joseph

NILES - Betty Jane Joseph, 91, of Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home passed away at 1:20 am on Sunday September 22, 2013 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in the Briar Hill area of Youngstown, Ohio on January 11, 1922 the daughter of Edward and Maude (Seely) Wasmund. She was a member of Saint Stephen Church, Niles Catholic Womens Club and a former member of the Niles Football Mother's Club. Betty enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is survived by two sons, Michael Joseph, Larry (Paula) Joseph Sr.; ten grandchildren, Greg Heppert, Laura Heard, Jessica Joseph, Larry Joseph Jr., Elizabeth Maxey, Monica Collier, Christopher Joseph, Michael Joseph, Matthew Joseph, Leo Joseph; seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Leo Joseph whom she married on June 14, 1941 and who died on December 15, 2005; daughter, Joan Heppert; son, Ronald L. Joseph; granddaughter, Lisa Heppert; four sisters, Mabel Pecchio, Deloris Acerra, Gladys Kihm, Margaret Ross and a brother, Albert Wasmund. Calling Hours will be Friday, September 27, 2013 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Stephen Church. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery
