NILES - Betty Evelyn Joseph, 91, passed away peacefully at 5:32 p.m. on Saturday June 13, 2015 at her home.
She was born in Georgetown, West Virginia on February 19, 1924 the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Warrick) Prendergast.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, caring homemaker and housewife. For six years she worked as a taper at Packard Electric. She was a member of St. Stephen Church and enjoyed traveling, shopping, reading and the companionship of her dog "BT".
Betty is survived by six children, Thomas M. (Cathy) Joseph of Rome, Jeff G. (Angie) Joseph of McDonald, David C. (Vicki) Joseph of Howland, Douglas J. (Crystal) Joseph of Hilliard, Marci A. (Kenneth) Ellwood of Niles, Karen E. Blazek of Raytown, Missouri; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Joseph whom she married on October 16, 1946 and who died on June 27, 2013; her parents; sister, Mary Curry and brother, Maurice Prendergast.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Church. Rev. James Korda will be the celebrant. Entombment will be in the family crypt at Niles City Cemetery.
