Betty Jane Suciu

GENEVA - Betty Jane Suciu, 95, died at 5:10 pm on Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Geneva Village Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania on April 29, 1918 the daughter of Joseph T. and Rose (Lafferty) Pence who were affectionately know as "pappy" and "mammy." She formerly lived in the northwest side of Warren and was a member of Blessed John Paul II Parish St. Pius Church. Many years ago, she was a patrol guard for the Warren City Schools. She enjoyed reading, music and gardening. Betty is survived by two sons, John (Clara) Suciu of Spring Hill, Florida, Tim (Gloria) Suciu of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Julie Fordu of Madison; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Suciu; a granddaughter, Dawn; six sisters, Mary Ruffcorn, Jean Phillips, Julia Orr, Evelyn Stineman, Agnes Evangelisti, Ruth Darmer; four brothers, James Pence, Rudolph Pence, Jack Pence, Joe Pence. The funeral will be Friday, February 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Rev. Christopher Henyk will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
