Betty Ann Sullivan

NILES - Betty Ann Sullivan, 84, passed away on Saturday morning April 5, 2014 at the Manor at Autumn Hills surrounded by her loving family and following a brief illness. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 16, 1929 the daughter of Henry L. and Helen S. Lasky. After graduating from Niles McKinley High School in 1947, Betty married her husband Bill on June 19, 1948 and together they had three children. She worked for the A&P Grocery Company, the Paper Back shack and finally in the office of Doctor S. Yumang. One of Betty's greatest joys was being involved in the activities of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Stephen Church where she served as an Eucharistic Minister at church, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Center. She was also a member of the Niles Catholic Womens Club. Betty was a long time fan of the Niles Red Dragons, The Akron Zips, The University of Notre Dame and all Cleveland sports teams. Betty will be deeply missed by her daughter, Judy Jones and husband Bill of Cortland; her son Bill and wife Barbara Sullivan of Niles; and her son Bob Sullivan and Mary Sullivan of Sylvania. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kelly (Brad) Byanski, Billy (Megan) Sullivan, Erin Sullivan, Katie Sullivan and one great grandson, Dane Byanski. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill who died on April 1, 2008; sister, Doris Music; brother, Thomas Lasky; nephew, Joel and long time friend Mary Blair. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10 am at St. Stephen Church. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Betty's family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and the Manor at Autumn Hills for their wonderful care. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Stephen Parish or Hospice of the Valley.
