Burnice Queen , 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning May 5, 2024 at the Aventura Humility House in Austintown following an extended illness. She was born in Pie, West Virginia on May 26, 1940 the daughter of Earl and Causbie (Starr) Chafin.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church on DeForest Road in Warren. She enjoyed all the church activities and especially the time spent with her children, grandchildren and family. An avid flower gardener she especially loved roses.
Burnice is survived by eight children, Steve Queen of Parma, Sheila (Cecil) Clark of McDonald, Patricia Queen of Charmco, West Virginia, Scottie (Carla) Queen of Jeffrey, West Virginia, Tabitha Fields of Warren, Joseph (Kayla) Queen of Warren, Dakota (Ronnie) Queen of Williamson, West Virginia, Brittany Garlock of Delbarton, West Virginia; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren two brothers, Cecil Chafin of Auburn, Wilburn Chafin of Mims, Florida; sister, Joyce (Robert) Legg of Titusville, Florida. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; sister, Ruby Brown; four brothers, John Chafin, Billy Chafin, infants Roylee and Alonzo Chafin.
The local funeral will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Douglas Brown will officiate.
The West Virginia funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 10, 2024 at the Handley Funeral Home in Danville, West Virginia where family and friends may call one hour to the services. Pastor Paul Little officiating. Burial will be in the Memory Gardens, Madison, West Virginia.
