Carmen F. Roberts Jr. 73. peacefully passed away on Monday August 3, 2026 at Mercy Health Saint Elizabeth Hospital – Youngstown surrounded by family.
He was born December 1, 1952 in Warren, Ohio the son of Carmen F. and Mona B. (Allison) Roberts Sr. and lived in this community his entire life.
Carmen is survived by his wife Carolyn (Braun) Roberts whom he married on September 9, 1983; son, Carmen F. (Jenna) Roberts III of Stow, daughter, Rachel (Ben) Clement of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Lydia, Eliza, Sylvia Roberts, and Luca, Caius Clement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John A. Roberts.
Carmen was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He attended Kent State University Trumbull County campus, where he met Carolyn and began their 49-year adventure together, and Youngstown State University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Carmen dedicated his life to his family. He found joy in taking care of the people around him. He designed and built houses in his younger years and was proud that he helped build every house he lived in. He was a stay-at-home dad and always did everything he could to support his children, from helping with school projects to attending endless sports and band events to always making time for calls about the everyday challenges in life.
Carmen enjoyed going to concerts with his wife, most often attending Queen concerts and concerts at The Covelli Centre in later years. Over the past 7 years watching his five grandchildren laugh and run through his house brought him so much happiness.
Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Service of Christian Burial will be at noon. Reverend Leo Wehrlin will officiate. The family wants this to be a colorful, uplifting gathering to celebrate Carmen’s life. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery in a private ceremony on a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Saint Pope John XXIII Parish – Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
