NILES - Charles M. Dillehay, 83,
died at 8:52 am, Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the St. Joseph Health
Center emergency room following an extended illness.
Chuck was born in Marietta, Ohio on August 16, 1929
the son of Otis and Nellie (Graham) Dillehay and came to Niles many
years ago.
He was employed at the U. S. Steel Company,
McDonald Works and later was a truck driver for Central Paving
Company of Niles. He was member of Saint Stephen Church and enjoyed
his vegetable garden and helping his many friends with their
projects.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol (Paul)
Gavalec of Warren, Bernadette Dillehay of Cortland; two
granddaughters, Carolyn Loveland of Warren, Victoria (Jim) Huber of
Niles; four great grandchildren, Michael Fairman, Gabrella Huber,
Madison Huber, Soraeya Faith Loveland and a sister, Frances
Montgomery of Steubenville.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his
wife the former, Irene Marie Banik whom he married May 14, 1949 and
who died on July 4, 2005; two brothers, Elmer and Arthur
Dillehay.
Calling Hours will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 10:00 am at
Saint Stephen Church. The Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will be the
celebrant. Burial will be in Saint Stephen Cemetery.
