CHILLICOTHE - Charles Edward Gregory, 80, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 30, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on April 22, 1935 the son of Marvin E. and Mabel Irene (Callahan) Gregory.
For over 40 years he worked at the CSX Railroad and retired in 1995 as a Roadmaster. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting and restoring cars and playing the harmonica.
Charles is survived by a daughter Sandy (Thomas) Cline of Mineral Ridge; son Charles Ethan Gregory of Chillicothe; three sisters, Wavelene Carpenter of Girard, Juanita Hanshaw of Lordstown, Lucille (Loyd) Johnson of North Carolina; four brothers, Robert (Dolly) Gregory of Toledo, Woody (Patricia) Gregory of Mineral Ridge, Glen (JoAnn) Gregory of Niles, Larry (Loretta) Gregory of Vienna; four grandchildren, Nathan Cline, Bethany (Otis) Thacker, Jonathan Cline, Andrew Cline; eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Aline Creech Gregory; second wife, Marketta L. Pigg Gregory who died on March 27, 2008; brother, Russell Gregory and Infant sister, Wanda Gregory.
The funeral will be Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Assembly Church of Mineral Ridge where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Philip Burbridge will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
