Clarence D. Nickels

NILES - Clarence D. "Boonie" Nickels, 71, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Saturday June 13, 2015 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on December 31, 1943 the son of Frank and Maudie (Jennings) Nickels and lived in the Niles community most of his life. He was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School and retired in 2002 from J & L Specialty after 36 years. He enjoyed bowling, dancing and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. Clarence is survived a son, Danny Nickels Sr. of Niles; daughter, Danette (Jon) Moore of Warren; five grandchildren, Amber Nickels, Daniel Gainey, Courtney Applequist, Makayla and Jon Moore; one great granddaughter, Gemma Joynes. He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Anne (McClung) Nickels whom he married on December 23, 1967 and who died on July 19, 2003; his parents; three sisters, Marge Palmer, Loretta "Dolly" Cline, Shelvie Plyler; four brothers, Cledith, John, Guy, Delmar; companion, Darlene Cole. Calling Hours will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Darrell Cline will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
