Cosma Mary Frederick Ryan

MINERAL RIDGE - Cosma Mary "Connie" Frederick Ryan, 88, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at 2:44 pm on Sunday January 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Akron on July 23, 1926 the daughter of Phillip and Celestina (Justine) Stillo. She retired in 1985 after working many years as a clerk at Fisher Fazio Grocery Store. For over twenty years, she and her husband enjoyed spending the winter season in Ft. Myers, Florida. Connie was a member of St. Mary's Church in Mineral Ridge and a former member of St. James Church in Warren. She was active in the Altar And Rosary Society, St. Vincent dePaul Society, choir, hospital and shut-in visits and helping with bingo. She also volunteered at the Briarfield at the Ridge, now, Vista Care at the Ridge. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bingo, dancing, clogging, square dancing and was an avid Cleveland Indians Fans. Connie taught her family to follow the testimony of her life, to love others and to unconditionally give to others with humility and grace. Our mother always said her greatest joy was to have all her children in a church pew. We may not be able to always be together, but because of our mother's testimony of her faith, we are in a church pew somewhere on our journey. Connie is survived by five children, Allen (Renee) Frederick of Logan, JoAnn (John) Bagnola of North Jackson, DiAnn Frederick of Niles, Albert S. (Jane) Frederick of Huron, Rebecca (David) Brothers of Niles; three step-children; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; brother, Dominic Stillo of Akron; sister, Anne Rivera of Kent. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward James Ryan who died on April 19, 2011 ; five grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Stillo, Samuel Stillo; three sisters, Madeline Eastep, Eleanor DeRosa, Josephine Scarpitti. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, Mineral Ridge preceded by a 9:30 am prayer service at the funeral home. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery. The family gratefully acknowledges the staff of Vista Care at the Ridge especially Sherry, Lloyd and Dr. Mourad Rostom for their care and comfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society of Trumbull County 2415 Niles Road SE, Warren, OH 44484 or the Alzheimer's Association 3695 B Boardman-Canfield Road #301, Canfield, OH 44406.
