Creta Batchelder

Creta Batchelder , 74, of Largo FL, formerly of Lordstown, Ohio passed away on May 26, 2025 at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainsville, Florida after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Creta was born June 26, 1950, a daughter of the late Bruce and Christina (Currence) Gettig.  She was a 1968 graduate of Warren G Harding High School  and an active member of Maranatha Church and the River Church in Warren, and the Mission City Church in Largo, Florida.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Terry Batchelder, whom she married on January 2 1969; a son Terry II (Mia) Batchelder of Warren; a daughter Rebecca (Brian) Huber of a Champion; 3 grandchildren, Pollyanna and Parker Batchelder of Warren and Bruce Click of Champion; brother Neil (Nancy) Gettig of Champion; two sisters Cindy Gettig of Rhode Island, Tammy (John) Handler of Mentor; sister in law Jan Hill of Niles; brothers in law Kevin Batchelder of Warren and William Batchelder of Rock Creek, and sister in law Darlene (Lorin) Jones of Warren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers Victor Hill and Duane Gettig; her grandson Spencer Mckimmie; father in law Delbert Batchelder; mother in law Pollyanna Batchelder and brother in law Wayne Batchelder.

A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday June 27, 2025 at Rock of Grace Church 420 North Street NW, Warren, Ohio 44483. A burial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday June 28, 2025 at Lordstown Cemetery.
