Curtis Ray Lewis

NILES - Curtis Ray Lewis Sr. 66, passed away at 8:00 am, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles. He was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on February 18, 1948 the son of Milford and Erma (Porter) Lewis and came to this area many years ago. Curtis was employed as a truck driver for 35 years, most recently for Anchor Motor Freight. He retired in 2003. He enjoyed Nascar, gun clubs, was a collector of anything and everything, cherished a good cup of coffee, time spent with family and friends especially his grandchildren. He was a very proud grandpa. He is survived by two daughters and two sons, Carrie (Eric) Cook of Lisbon, Ohio, Curtis (Becky) Lewis Jr. of Niles, Ohio, James (Becky) Manning and Louryena Lewis both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; eight grandchildren Andrew, Katie Ray, Amber, Mileena, Kyle, Reece, Nate, Austin; two sisters and three brothers, Avenell Bentley of Prestonsburg, Kenkucky, Judy (Edd Crown) Johnson of Girard, Ohio, Chalmer (Joyce) Lewis, Frank (Lynn) Lewis both of Niles, Ohio, William (Tammie) Lewis of McDonald, Ohio. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children and lifelong friend Gayle Bartholomew; sister Laura Wooden; five brothers, Vearl Thomas, Woodrow Weaver, Freddie Lewis, Warren Lewis, Reece Lewis. Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles and Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Globe Funeral Home, Olive Hill, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at the Porter Creek Church, Jacobs, Kentucky, Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Porter Cemetery.
