Daniel L. Bland, 71, passed away peacefully at 6:25 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at his residence following a long illness with his wife at his bedside. Daniel was born in Warren, Ohio on February 25, 1951 the son of Fred Lewis and Rosalie Ann (Scerba) Bland and has lived in this area all his life.
Daniel was a Warren G. Harding High School graduate and attended Kent State University. He retired in 2009 from the Delphi Packard Electric Company following forty years of faithful service as a manufacturing supervisor. He was an active member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church and enjoyed the church activities. In his younger years and following his retirement, he was a jogger, gardener, sports enthusiast and enjoyed reading. When good health permitted, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and their activities.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Shirley Rood Bland whom he married September 16, 1972; two daughters, Jolene (Daniel) Taub of Mineral Ridge, Niki (Bill) Roberts of Jackson Center, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexis, Parker, Peyton, Judson, Reagan; great-grandson Carter; three sisters, Rosalie Ann Bland of Girard, Diane Timko of St. Louis, Missouri, Darlene McCloud of Niles; and a brother, Freddie Bland of Deland, Florida.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Heidi Leann Malachin who died July 4, 2022; and a brother, Clifford Bland.
Funeral services will be held at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 3101 DeForest Road, Warren on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Douglas Brown officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private in Kerr Cemetery.
