Daniel Edgar Lykins

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA - Daniel Edgar Lykins 57, passed away at 3:22 p.m. on Thursday January 24, 2019 at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida. Daniel was born in Warren on February 13, 1961 a son of Edgar L. and Zoa (Jones) Lykins. He was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School and attended Youngstown State University before joining the Air Force and serving for eleven years. He returned to the Military and served in the United States Army for a total of 33 years with seven overseas deployments. He retired and was honorably discharged from the Army in November of 2014. Daniel enjoyed weight lifting, riding his motorcycle, softball, hanging out on the beach, being with family and many outdoor activities. Daniel is survived by his wife Crystal A. Lykins whom he married on September 22, 1997; parents Edgar L. and Zoa Lykins of Niles; two sisters ZoaAnn (Richard) Shiley of Mineral Ridge, Jo Dee (Steve) Stanovcak of Youngstown; six children, Christopher L. Lykins of Wilmington, North Carolina, Austin Lykins of Mineral Ridge, Brennen Lykins of Wilmington, North Carlolina, Jacob Gascon (Lykins) of Wilmington, North Carolina, Tiana Allen of Madrid, Spain, Dalton C. Lykins of Monterey, California; his therapy dog, Gigi and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Gallaher American Family Funeral Home 2701 Cleveland Avenue Fort Myers, Florida 33901. The Funeral with Military Honors will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Route 72 Sarasota, Florida 34241.
