Dean Edward Wissinger

Dean Edward Wissinger , 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 15, 2025 at his home. He was born in Dayton, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1933 the son of Francis Edward and Edith Ella (Neely) Wissinger and lived in this community most of his life.

Dean honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired in 1997 from Packard Electric Company. He was a long time member of the New Hope Methodist Church in Niles, a fifty year member of the Carroll F. Clapp Masonic Lodge #655 and currently the Cortland Masonic Lodge #529 and a longtime member of the Ali Babba Grotto. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing the organ, chess and checkers.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes Jean (Shaffer) Wissinger; son, David (Bobbie Ann) Wissinger of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three daughters, Denise Beatty of Niles, Debra Fife of Niles, Deanna (Tim) Schubert of Vienna; 12 grandchildren, Jamilynn Wissinger, TJ Wissinger, Justiellen Wissinger, Greg Wissinger, Joshua Knapp, Justin Beatty, Deena Lynn Fife, Danielle Hoffman, Gina Rohland, Alyssa Rohland, Max Schubert, Katarina Schubert; and 28 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Evan Russell Knapp; siblings, Betty Laughery, William F. Wissinger, Martha McCutcheon, Robert H. Wissinger and Donald E. Wissinger.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where there will be a Masonic Service. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 22, 2025 at the funeral home where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dick Smith and Rev. Curtis Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
