HOWLAND TOWNSHIP - Dorothy V. Conklin, 90, dearest mother and wife, left this world peacefully on the morning of Friday, December 1, 2017 at her home to be with her Lord Jesus following a five month illness.
"Dot" Conklin recently celebrated her 90 th birthday with her whole family and 69 th wedding anniversary with her sweetheart husband Keith M. Conklin.
Dorothy was born at the family homestead in Niles, Ohio on November 14, 1927 the daughter of Thomas James and Josephine (Chisler) Davis and has lived in Niles and Howland her entire life. She was a 1945 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. She worked for three years at Niles Glass Plant of the General Electric Company until her marriage to Keith on November 27, 1948.
She was an active member of Saint Stephen Church, Niles Catholic Womens Club and Birthright of Trumbull County. She enjoyed being active and traveling. She loved making a home for her family. Dot had the "Davis" sense of humor that drew family and friends closer.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by all her loved ones. She is survived by her husband Keith M. Conklin whom she married on November 27, 1948.
Dorothy was blessed with five children; Karen (John) Pluth of Willowick, Mary Ann (Todd) Pittis of Chardon, Kenneth (Lisa M.) Conklin of Lowellville, Rich (Lisa A.) Conklin of Howland, Suzanne (Calvin) Clay of Howland. She was dearly loved by her grandchildren: Jonathan (Erica) Gilbert, Kyle Conklin, Carly (Daniel) Slattery, Zackery Conklin, Courtney Conklin, Amelia Clay, and Nicholas Conklin.
She is survived by her sister, Grace L. Norman of Niles; brother, Joseph (Lucille) Davis of Ft. Pierce, Florida and preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marie Reiter and five brothers, Thomas E., Robert T., William J., James L., John H. Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a. m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Saint Stephen Church with the Rev. Richard Murphy officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a. m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Pineview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley or Saint Stephen Church.
