Dorothy A. Manchester

NILES - Dorothy A. Manchester, 93, passed away unexpectedly at 2:34 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the St. Joseph Health Center. Dorothy was born in Niles, Ohio on August 4, 1928 the daughter of Joseph and Pasqualina (Modarelli) Murano and has lived in this area all her life. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Dorothy was employed as a Loan Officer for the 717 Credit Union for over 20 years and retired in 1990. She enjoyed classical music, opera and history. She crerished the many family functions and activities with her children and grandchildren. Following her retirement, she enjoyed many trips to the casinos, especially being a winner at the slot machines. Dorothy is survived by her five children: Dr. Frank Manchester (Doug) of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Dr. Deborah Manchester (Sheila) of Studio City, California, Bill Manchester (Joyce) of Rutland, Vermont, Cathy Carlisle (Bob) of Niles, John Manchester (Bonnie) of Southington, six grandchildren: John (Heather) Matuszwski, Jessica Manchester, Jeremy (Kelly) Manchester, Tara (Adam) Lehmann, Dustin Manchester, Frank Manchester, three great grandchildren Jamie, Arlo and Zoe, and special caregiver Natalie Comer. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank A. Manchester whom she married February 3, 1951 and he died September 6, 1992, granddaughter Christine Manchester, and only sister Marie Sava. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Niles at Noon of Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Friends may call at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. prayer service prior to going to church.
