Edna L. Blaylock

Edna L. Blaylock , 87, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, May 6, 2024 at the Elwood Health and Living Center, Elwood, Indiana, following a long full life.

She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on March 6, 1937 the daughter of Jasper and Ethel (Hewitt) Bogue. Edna and her husband, Pastor James J. Blaylock were proud of their time at the Niles Apostolic Bible Church where he was the pastor for over 20 years, and she was always busy at the church being the Pastor's wife. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years, and was the President of the church's Ladies Auxiliary. Edna loved to play the piano and will always be remembered for sharing her testimony to anyone who would listen. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her husband who passed away on December 4, 2017, and many beloved family member who have gone before her. Edna and James shared 62 years beautiful years of marriage.

Edna is survived by two children, Pastor Scott (Carol) Blaylock of Elwood, Indiana, Rebecca Ann Bryant of Middleburgh, Florida; three grandchildren; James D. Blaylock, Kaitlyn (Jeff) Boggs, John Caplinger; five great-grandchildren, Gentry, Gannon, Greyson, Gavin, and Gideon Boggs, and numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pastor James J. Blaylock and eight siblings; Glen, Melvin, Alvin, Bernard, Wilma, Betty, Hazel and Martha.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the Abundant Grace Church, formerly the Apostolic Bible Church, 1623 West Park Avenue, Niles from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Edna's life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Pineview Memorial Park.
