Liberty Township - Edward J.
Tock, 79, died at 4:35 am Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at
Hospice House in Poland following an extended illness.
He was born in the family home on Hyde Street in
Niles on February 10, 1933 the son of James E. and Hazel E. (Round)
Tock. He attended and graduated from St. Stephen School,
Niles McKinley High School in 1951 and studied at Youngstown State
University.
Ed was a proud member of Carpenters, Millwright
and Piledrivers Union for 63 years. He belonged to the Niles
Local, Warren Local 1438 where he was Treasurer and Business Agent,
Cleveland Local 1871 as a Business Representative covering eleven
counties and member CMT Retirees. He retired in 1995.
He also was a member of the Niles Knights of Columbus, Jaycees and
the Vienna Fish and Game Club.
He attended St. Stephen Church where he received
the sacraments, attended mass at the Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine and
was a charter member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in
Vienna. He enjoyed walking at the Eastwood Mall and meeting with
other mall walkers. He collected and documented the family
history. He was proud of his children and grandchildren,
especially when they caught their first fish.
Edward is survived by his wife Marian "Frances"
(Kozlowski) Tock whom he married on September 15, 1956 at St.
Nicholas Church in Struthers; six children,Jennifer Tock of
Reynoldsburg, James F. (Sheere) Tock of Louisville, Kentucky,
Christopher Tock of Hillard, Rebecca "Beky" (William) Davis of
Austintown, Lawrence (Nancy) Tock of Terre Haute, Indiana, Kenneth
(Michele) Tock of Syracuse, New York; 12 grandchildren; one great
grandson and brother, Richard (Jane) Tock of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two
sisters, Margaret "Peg" Boyle and Sarah "Sally" Leonard.
Calling Hours will be Friday, December 28, 2012
from 5 to 8 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10
am at St. Stephen Church. Burial will be in Resurrection
Cemetery.
