NILES - Elizabeth M. "Betty"
LaBruno, 90, passed away at 10:30 am Monday, March 11,
2013 at the St. Joseph Health Center from pneumonia.
She was born in Youngstown on February 15, 1923
the daughter of Annunziato and Josephine (Cua) Cua and lived in
this community all of her life.
A graduate of Niles McKinley High School, she was
a member of St. Stephen Church. She retired in 1995 after
working 35 years as the housekeeper and secretary of St. Stephen
Church. She enjoyed crocheting and making Infant of Prague
clothing.
Betty is survived by a son, Sam (Donna) LaBruno
Sr. of Eustis, Florida; daughter, Nancy (Gary) Jayne of Niles; six
grandchildren, Gina LaBruno, Stephanie (Richard) Palumbo, Katie
(Andy) Yost, Sam LaBruno Jr., Anthony LaBruno, Shelly Allen; eight
great grandchildren, AJ and Madelyn Yost, Nicholas Palumbo, Sam
LaBruno III, Allie Baxley, Robbie, River and Jackson; sister,
Caroline Arovini of Daytona Beach, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest
L. "Ernie" LaBruno whom she married on October 5, 1946 and who died
on August 15, 2011; and two brothers, Carmen and Sam Cua.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, March 14, 2013
from 5 to 8 pm and Friday, March 15 from 9 to 9:45 am at the
Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be
Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen Church. Rev.
Thomas Kraszewski will be the celebrant. Burial will be in
St. Stephen Cemetery.
