Emery J. Patterson

NILES - Emery J. Patterson Jr., 81, passed away peacefully at 8:42 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge following an extended illness. Emery was born in Warren, Ohio on September 20, 1937 the son of Emery J. and Helena Violet (Pierce) Patterson Sr. Emery was the owner of the Patterson Lawn Care and previously was a Welder and Tool and Die Setter at Niles Republic Steel Co. He attended the Niles School System and was a member of the South Side Presbyterian Church and Alcoholics Anonymous for 30 years. Emery enjoyed going on vacations, camping and fishing with his family. Emery is survived by three daughters, Vicki (Jeff) Thompson of Niles, Dee Dellinger of Niles, Lisa Zimmerman of Columbiana, nine grandchildren Allen (Jolene) Scott, Christopher (Sarah) Scott, Zachary Law, Cameron Thompson, Derek and Emma Dellinger, Nicole and Mary Zimmerman, Lauren Ammon, four great grandchildren with two on the way, two sisters, Stella Lee Nickels of Cortland, and Margaret Joyner of Fort Mills, SC. Emery was preceded in death by his wife,Velma A. Nagy Patterson whom he married July 19, 1958 and she died November 1, 2003. a sister Dolores Patterson. Private graveside services and burial will be held at the Niles City Cemetery on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Funeral arrangements are by the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home 126 West Park Avenue, Niles, Ohio 44446.
